Dear colleagues,

it’s a personal pleasure to direct and coordinate the “3° Winfocus-Switzerland Congress” with an extraordinary, international and renowned worldwide colleagues to make this event much greater - if it’s possible - than all previous years!

During these three days, we will offer an exciting scientific first day entitled “More than emergency ultrasound”, where international speakers will discuss about the echography assessment in all highest emergencies fields in point-of-care echography. Moreover, during this first day will be a unique happening for Winfocus-Switzerland: all members will be able to discuss directly with all our experts in the post-lecture meetings and encounter these renowned colleagues throughout our social sessions. A new poster-challenge session will offer furthermore the opportunity to experts in ultrasound to discuss their own scientific works in the emergency ultrasound field during the plenary session.

According to previous years, the second and third day will be dedicated at didactics: it’s a pleasure for me inform you that this year Winfocus-Switzerland will offer nine parallels courses entirely dedicated to ultrasounds, both with a basic and advanced level. All basic courses are dedicated to the professionals who have to approach the emergency ultrasound for the first time, while advanced courses are dedicated to those who already know the basic elements of ultrasounds and want to improve their knowledge in a specific field. This year we offer a pediatrics course, a topic that - I'm sure - will stimulate some of you to join us for its high degree of interest, expertise and utility during daily clinical practice. Also this year, specific attention will be dedicated to our nursing section, an exclusive of Winfocus-Switzerland, which in previous years has brought enormous enthusiasm to those involved in the field, who have been able to better understand the application of ultrasound in theoretic clinical area and in daily clinical practice.

The presence of small workgroups, especially during the several workshops, is another key element to ensure good quality of the course. Indeed, the present symposium will allow, all our colleagues interested in learning these techniques, to work side by side with the greatest international experts in the subject, in order to better learn this medical eld of high practical interest. The presence of an interdisciplinary faculty and internationally renowned directors is really a key-element of this Congress that will offer a first level scientific program that will thrill all participants.
